Kanyashree is an innovative scholarship programme started by the West Bengal Government to help female students financially in the field of education. This scheme provides financial assistance to girl students at different levels of education. The scheme is divided into three parts – K1, K2 and K3.

• Under K1, an incentive of Rs. 1000/- per annum is paid to the girls in the age group 13 to 18 years.
• Under K2, a one-time assistance of Rs. 25000/- is given to 18-19-year-old girls continuing education in any institution.
• K3 is for girls studying in universities to help pursue higher education.
