A General Duty Assistant (Maternal & Newborn Care/ Critical Care/ Dialysis/ Parturition) provides the patient with care and helps maintain a conducive environment in the various departments in a hospital/home setting. Some of the key responsibilities include maintaining the patient’s daily standard of living, seeing to the patient’s comfort, safety and health needs. They monitor or report changes in the health status of the patients. They work in collaboration with doctors and nurses.

Minimum Qualification • After completing class 10 and being 18 years of age you can enrol for National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)* level 4 general duty - advanced training
* NSQF is a nationally integrated education and competency-based framework that enables persons to acquire desired competency levels in a chosen field. NSQF includes vocational education, vocational training, general education and technical education which prepares an individual for the job market with competent skills. An individual may return at any time to upgrade skills after gaining experience
